Project Unknown - WIP RPG/RogueLike game

Postby Cosy » Sat Mar 17, 2012 8:06 pm

Hi there, not sure whether I am allowed to post this, so if not just lock and delete this thread. Project Unknown is a little game that I am working on with two other people. It is a top-down RPG game with some roguelike aspects. There isn't a huge amount in the game and is really just in a proof of concept version.

It is a free game though! From now until release and from then onwards.

I just downloaded Project Unknown, but I can't get it to run. I have tried changing compatibility settings and running as administrator, but nothing appears on the screen. The task manager shows the process as running, though.

Hmm, I am not quite sure. If there is no error message then I could only assume there is a compatibility issue or you are missing some files. Could you try and redownload and ensure all files get unzipped and also list your system specs. If nothing works, either reply back here or post on the forum as the other dev maybe able to help (He is the 'lead' programmer) and I may see it quicker.

Also, thanks BurningPet :)

Well, I opened it, went out to smoke, and when I got back the installer was open. Install went fine and I'm able to play.

Is there anything to do at this point beyond walking around and messing with the map?

Currently, no, we are working on getting enemies into the game and combat etc along with items, but that takes time as we are not pros :3

We will post on our forum whenever a new update; that has content, is in the way. You should check the forum out ;)

Fair enough. Here is a link to a video someone made: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=chdNjISw03Y

They say it is a review, but they didn't know much about the game so listening to them word for word may not be the best idea :P If that isn't enough I will upload some pics (Have to take screenshots have none at the moment).

I'll definitely follow the development of the game. Roguelikes are right up my alley.

Just want to say it is "rogue-like" aspects, not exactly rogue-like.
