I thought the 0.50 release might slow interest in this series, but it still seems as popular as ever. I had some concerns when 0.50 was released that I may have to scrap the series, if the game changed too dramatically, but amazingly I should have realised that 0.50 would suit The Goblin War even better than 0.47. Though I'm probably going to have to find a place for gruesome gargoyle statues, a skin tingling harp, a purple throne and maybe even one particually evil necromancer...

It's funny, I built a small 'pizza town' in 0.50 after a few failed attempts and sure enough, I ended up with a town that had an Isabel, an Alice, a Sybbyl, a Terryn and lastly came along a Leofrick. What are the odds? LOL

Sorry there's been a delay with the series, my internet died, and I'm helping to open a new business which has taken a lot of my time. I should have a new part of The Goblin War up sometime in the next few days. Until then, thanks for reading guys, you're all awesome!

What is it with you and not knowing the inspiration for statues? The Necromancer statue is in honour of Wizardjian, who chose to add it as his prize for winning of one of the weekly build contests.

Is it too self-applauding to ask for a long bone staircase into Drauk's or Nusep's palace terminating in a wall of iron bars? (those were the items I added for my winning entries - we can't all have giant statues in-game, although if I win again and can't think of a good idea perhaps a Yeti head on a stick to go with the others? )
What's that you're eating? A nice, juicy apple? You weren't supposed to eat that you fool, you were supposed to make it into a pie! - last words recorded words of Francis D'Avre before he went looking for snowcherries, but found a hungry Yeti instead.

Sorry this upcoming part of the Goblin War has been so late guys. I have been building a garden centre from scratch for the past few months and have been putting in some 16 hours days recently to get it finished. Though, now with the chaos is over and our grand opening is days away I can get back to it.

Yeah, garden centres are a lot of work, my father owns one which I work at, and pretty much all my relatives work at or own garden centres, it's a lot of work and you have to gamble every year when you try to guess which plants people want and which ones won't sell, good luck.
You are a primitive human not an insult; a forum game. [Currently dead] Note that this was the first forum game on the towns forum, I'm a trend setter. :D

I was quite surprised to find out how many ppl on the towns forum are in horticulture. I reckon we should have a Zygopetalum Orchid put in the game in honour of all the botanists. :D

Yeah, share some pictures of that garden centre!

Btw - at my day job i am a marketing manager at a big garden centre.

Aduvash - there is barely a margin of error where i work. we just look up the data of past years and raise or lower the stock accordingly, but i guess its easier for us, since we don't actually grow anything and just buy/sell so we can be very dynamic.

So.. orchids ha? townies are too dumb to be able to maintain orchids. but Carnivorous plants? hmmm... *quickly open photoshop".

hey that's awesome Ben, you even got the colours right. We sell truck loads of Venus fly traps in summer (New Zealand is very cold) but also carnivorous plants drosera (sundew) and Nepenthes (pitcher plant).

Are drosera and nepenthes the actual names of the plants? Because there are a couple mobs in RO(Ragnarok Online) named Drosera(weird flower plant which eats peopleImage) and nepenthes(Weird tenticle plant Image) If so.. What lazy naming on the devs part lol

Yeah drosera and Nepenthes are the latin names or the genus if you want to be technical.
