Still not working

Hello

So i want to play Towns. and it did work for me.
but after an update (maybe 2 or 3 updates ago now) is stopped working.

in the log it says:
[Aug 10, 2012 3:24:45 PM][class xaos.h.a] Error obtaining the user folder
after making a post and some help from there and looking at other posts the answer was to manual make a folder:
C:\Users\cmg\.towns\save\0.47a this is what i made.
still now I get the same error in the log:

I am almost getting a bit angry, I don't know a lot about windows and stuff, I just want to play a game.
I hope any one can help me. (maybe i am an idiot and i just did something wrong)

PS I run on vista.

Hello,

the game tries to create a ".towns" folder in your user folder. If it doesn't have rights to do it the game can't start.

You tried to launch the game in administrator mode? (right click / run as admin) Than can help.

In the other hand, to know your user folder you can run the command %USERPROFILE% (Start / run / type %USERPROFILE% and click on "ok"). That will open your user folder, in there a ".towns" folder must be created and undier it a "save" folder

I tried both things you said, and the ".towns" and the "save" are there in %USERPROFILE%.
The running as admin just makes a new log in the "eror.log".

I tried to do a few things from tips on the forum, even reinstalled the game and whole desure.
No luck so far. if anyone has a bright idea or any idea please let me know.

We will add a USER_FOLDER in the towns.ini in the next build (0.50a), this way you will be able to change the folder where the game looks at.

ooh great, does that mean that I will properly will be able to play the game again. That is great news.

Just released, uploading builds to all the sites now

because I think I try to run 0.50 not, but that is not working for me.

Now you can edit the file towns.ini with any text editor (say, notepad).
Search this line:

;USER_FOLDER = C:/whatever/

And, first, uncomment it (removing the semicolon (the first character). After that, point a folder in your disk: IE: C:/myfolder/
And that's it, the game will use that folder to store the savegame/options

Note: The folder pointed must exist
