Too much flour?

Hi, I just recently bought Towns today, and I was just wondering how to deal with having about half of my land covered in flour? It's all just strewn all over the ground, even though I've put up several Raw Food Barrels around the settlement. It's all centered around the bakery, which is also filled with flour and bread. Why aren't they using their barrels? It's getting a little bit messy.

Well, maybe your citizens have too many tasks to stop and begin to haul. Setting haul as top priority on the priorities panel (F3) should help.

Your townspeople might have too many tasks and don't have enough time to do any hauling. Hauling is very low in priority by default. I suggest either waiting a while for your people to finish up their current tasks and get to moving flour around or to shut off the mill (right click on it and turn it off automatic mode) for a while.

Thanks guys! I let them finish their other tasks and raised hauling to top priority and it all got cleaned up!

I actually find this annoying too, I would like to see the automated harvest wheat task changed.

Problem is that if I don't automate the wheat, I have to remember to harvest it or people will starve (Defeats the purpose of automating making baked goods) if I automate gathering the wheat to say 3 pieces, it will harvest 3, put them in the mill, harvest 3 more and keep putting them in the mill, in the end I'll have 75+ flour bags littering the area, storage rooms and scattered all over, with more being made because wheat never stock piles.

Basically it seems the auto harvest wheat setting is the number of villagers to dedicate to making flour, since they will just keep harvesting and making flour. Maybe change wheat production or tweak it somehow to take flour into consideration, or set a flour auto production that will harvest wheat automatically to turn into flour (IE you need 20 flour, when your down to 19 will send someone to the wheat field, harvest and make flour out of it to bring it back up to 20)

Right now auto harvesting wheat just leads to infinite flour supplies.

Even with hauling as a high priority I'm having problems related to this. To ensure that I can support new immigrants, I normally have facilities to over-produce by 20-50% on food. However with wheat-based food, unless hauling is top priority (atm its just below cooking and harvesting) I have flour everywhere. However if i set it to top priority, no other jobs get done, as my townies continually alternate between making then hauling flour, until all of my stockpiles are full or they starve to death as i can't build new food production.
