Tales of the lost loved ones

When he first came to town, young and eager, i was skeptic he could survive a day longer than his predecessor, a level 5 barbarian. you see, i was unlucky enough to have a river and two huge lakes. what that means is that the number of rooms was extremely low, but the number of monsters per level always stay the same so the rooms were packed with all the goodies (or shall i say baddies) that underworld has to offer. it was a hero meat grinder. i watched maybe a 100 heroes give their life in the hope of getting just a bit of hard earned fame. but among those men and women, one name kept coming up.

Durvak, son of gershon.

I watched him grow from a level 5 squire who struggle to even scratch an hobgoblin to skul crashing level 46 demigod! packing 10,200 hp, Durvak withstood more than 200 monsters that couldn't bring him down to his knees, until one stray weretiger gazed his eyes and paws upon him. it was quick. it was dirty. it was sad.

I shall always remember you, Durvak, son of gershon.

Seem this is why we need Hero Graves with their name, class and level :)

(Who cares about the townies? Do you even notice their names before seeing the death message? )

odinn the elf.. i watched you grow from the day you arrived in my rather populated village of 60+ ... you were warmly recieved, and well encouraged on your journey deeper and deeper into the earth. you grew to level 33 right before my eyes, we were all so proud of you, and we knew that you were the answer to our dungeon problems...

one day we forgot to gather enough food because we were making new weapons. you were hungry. you decided to leave...

we waited for you to come back. we stocked the food barrels until they overflowed, built hundreds of statues in your honour..

even after all but 3 people had been wiped out, you never came back...

did you ever miss us?

let thy song of thee bravary be known!
thy name shall last thou out the ages,
thy story be carved on every wall,
let thy story be told.

Alys de Savage.
Her name was so fierce, yet her nature very tender
Equipped in all direite, a stalwart defender
She chose to wear hats of brilliant pure yellow
But when a wear-tiger came, she was turned into jello

The first time I cared about a Towny, its those damn hats that make you get attached. Anyway, I ended up surrounding her grave with yellow flowers. My other favorite character who died was a barbarian by the name rulf. I regret never learning his last name, but he was my second hero and I thought him unstoppable. I could swear I had him since he was level one or zero but I cant remember. He got killed by a room full of hobgoblins when he was still around level twenty.

Hjotr Denamy.

She was the best hero I ever had.

As we had finished constructing our tavern after many sieges had reduced my town to 5.

She was a lowly level 1 barely able to scrape a spider but I had finally made my first bone armor soldier and helped him defend her until she was ready.

She slew the Spider Queen with the help of the level 4 thief Charles although sadly he passed away.

She moved on to the second dungeon as a proud level 16, complete with a set of Spiderite.

She flew threw them all, spiders and goblins alike, we eventually had to go down to the 3rd dungeon where the hobgoblins crawled around on their fat distended bellies and she eventually moved up to level 35 where she had a helmet and boots of Goblinite and greaves and breastplate of the tiger Hobgoblinite.

She moved in for the final room, proud as she usually was with victory seeming certain in her mind with a room of 2 Red slimes, a Goblin leader, 3 Kaisers and Drauk, the Hobgoblin King.

The last thing she saw was her arrow strike true in the King's heart as the two Kaiser's burned her to death.

We shall forever miss her and we have made a whole room dedicated too her and her achievements.

Also, a mini fridge.

ah the greatest hero whose lived through my town

Belzebuit the rouge he did in hundreds of monsters without cease. watching as dozens of rouges, knights, barbarians and highlanders fell around the dungeon belzebuit always triumphed, spiders, goblins, ghosts, the last froggy on the map, slimes of every color, wolves. he could take anything. he even dispatched an entire siege by himself before the town guards could arrive. what did him in? patch .46 :(
