Need them to put eating ahead of finishing tasks and protecting..
Probably not when he was sleeping, because I am looking at mine when they sleep. Sometimes, while they sleep, they go up and eat something. With ZZZZ and stuff, they just go up and take some roast or something.

1) Food has been rebalanced. You can't feed your townies the same stuff you used to and expect the same results. If all you have to eat is a really low hunger-filling food, and they eat that then set off on a far off task, it's likely that they slow down in hunger mode in the middle of the task, possibly slowing down enough to make the task last long enough to starve them. This can be solved be supplying them with more filling foods, so that they complete their tasks at full speed.
2) You're on the border of having enough food production to feed your town. Previously, if you were out of food and somebody hit starving status, they would lock up and do nothing till food was available, which as we all know was really annoying. However now, if you have a towny hungry and no food is available, instead of standing there waiting for food, he'll pick a new task, and just perform it slowly. This means that even if somebody cooks some food right after the guy hit hungry, he's already started a new task so won't look for that food till he's done with it. If he gets really unlucky, when he finally finishes the task, at reduced speeds no less, somebody else will have eaten the food and there will once again be no food available, so he'll start a new task. If you ALWAYS have food available this isn't a risk, but any time you're empty you open yourself to this problem, where starving people start new work instead of waiting for food. Hunger lock actually had a purpose!
I suspect the second case happens often now. Previously I've frequently had times where a few townies go into hunger lock for a brief moment, then snap out of it as food is prepared. If I played the same now, all those people who briefly stopped for hunger lock before, would now continue working, and risk starving to death if the new job they picked was a particularly long one.
I know that you are a very known guy here and that you really have some high amout of knowlegde here, but that's not what's happening here... as I had already stated before.
Some more 2 guys died here today from starvation. So, I really don't know what to do... Because I have 20 constant Roast, 20 Omelettes, 20 Breads, 20 Pear Pies, 10 Apple Pies, 10 Meat Pies, 10 Ham and Eggs... I had never run out ouf food before and they still die! I don't send them to dungeons to Haul stuff and they die! I don't send them to build very complex stuff (walls and roads are very fast to produce! one stone or wood, masonry/carpentry, place it where it is suposed to be! And it's all freaking close to each other!!!
The thing that I've noted is that sometimes, sa I said before, they will start some task even if they have the hunger icon (just the bread)... and sometimes it is very close to the time when they start the hunger lock icon (with the red X).
The real funny thing is that when they finish a task with the hunger lock icon and just go to eat something, the icon CHANGES back to Hunger Icon before they reach the food!! The change happens really in the transition where he finished his work and goes for some food. Weird, isn't it? Is this some mechanics so the townie can walk faster to the food?
