well it isn't graphical..

Doors are 1 layer high.. all of them.. the tall ones just look 2 layers high.

So when you put a thin wall close to the door on the first layer it attaches.. but on the second it doesn't know to attach because there isn't anything actually there to attach to..

But they just have to decide how they want to fix it I think.

I'd love if they would attach on the upper layer as well. I was building my barracks similarly, but with bone doors and two layers of dark wood walls. It would make buildings look quite a bit smoother.

Well, there is an easy way to fix it graphically:
open graphics.ini in the main folder and change this:

Code: Select all
[woodenwall_N]TILE_X = 14
[woodenwall_N]TILE_Y = 0
[woodenwall_S]TILE_X = 12
[woodenwall_S]TILE_Y = 0
[woodenwall_E]TILE_X = 15
[woodenwall_E]TILE_Y = 0
[woodenwall_W]TILE_X = 13
[woodenwall_W]TILE_Y = 0

into this:

Code: Select all
[woodenwall_N]TILE_X = 9
[woodenwall_N]TILE_Y = 0
[woodenwall_S]TILE_X = 9
[woodenwall_S]TILE_Y = 0
[woodenwall_E]TILE_X = 10
[woodenwall_E]TILE_Y = 0
[woodenwall_W]TILE_X = 10
[woodenwall_W]TILE_Y = 0

Great, thanks for that fix.

Here's the bit for the old stone wall:

Code: Select all
[stonewall_N]TILE_X = 9
[stonewall_N]TILE_Y = 2
[stonewall_S]TILE_X = 9
[stonewall_S]TILE_Y = 2
[stonewall_E]TILE_X = 10
[stonewall_E]TILE_Y = 2
[stonewall_W]TILE_X = 10
[stonewall_W]TILE_Y = 2

(So same as wooden wall but with 2s instead of 0s)

edit: it doesn't work in some cases:

The bug though does end up highlighting another question. Why are doors two blocks high when people and items all seem to be one block high?

I suppose is all aesthetic, 2 blocks high gives more a feeling of more space.
I don't usually use the 1 high doors.

Aye I like the way two block high doors look.

I have a idea to solve this... but I need to test it .... but later tonight :P

I am not positive it'll work.. but I'll post it if it does haha..
