Holy good mother of god!!!!

Gnomoria now has one less feature that has made it a little better than towns!

I cant wait to play this, gonna build a tower of epic proportions, it shall be a gazillion meters high, and I shall name it tower hugershet (huur-guur-shit)!!!!

EDIT: Also, does this mean that dungeons are going to be further down, and that some dungeons may even have multiple levels? Like the first dungeon would start at a depth of 5, and would go down to 8(through stairs and stuff) and maybe connect to the 2nd 'floor' or the 2nd dungeon would start at a depth of 10 and so on. The possibilities...

I like that idea although it would clash heavily with the way that I play Towns. I let my Heroes clear out a dungeon level and then let my Townies go and clear out all the goodies, then dig to the next level and rinse and repeat. However with how long it takes the Heroes to currently clear out just one level is hugely a long time with little for me and the Townies to do while the Heroes are clearing out just one level of the dungeon, so to make me wait until the Heroes clear out 3 levels would seem absurdly long and boring to me.

Although with all the new goodies coming in .50 maybe me as the player will have more things to work on on the above ground level if it does swing this way that you're thinking.

Yeah, I'm curious as to how the dungeon will work as well. I assumed that they'd simply add another layer between each dungeon to be the floor/ceiling, although I do like the idea of multi-level dungeon floors. I usually have a love-hate relationship with these kinds of features - I love them when they're there just enough that you think "wow, that's interesting", but if there are dozens of sub-levels and side-areas to each region then I get bored very early on.

I hope they strike some kind of balance, maybe making each "floor" of the dungeon three or so levels deep and putiing the harder monsters on the lower level of each floor. Naturally the boss would be on the bottom level of each floor, and I'd like to see something like murder holes where you can see the boss but can't get to them, so you can station archers to help out melee heroes. Of course, the moments you shoot at a monster it charges the offending hero/soldier, so you wouldn't be able to just rain death onto the bosses; it would just be an incentive to clear the upper levels of each floor first so that you can help your heroes out when it comes to the final boss battle.

I'm there there will be a proper seal between each difficulty level.

Also hope theres a fix for: Townie dies to monster. Townie goes to get corpse. dies. Townie goes to get corpse. dies. repeat.

There is a fix.. it is called stop telling your townies to store corpses...

Yes caprontos is right, its only a problem if you allow the townies to go haul them.
Best result is at the options menu before you start a map to make sure stockpiles are set as all items disabled before starting.

Don't forget to mention what happens if you don't haul up those corpses. Especially when there are a lot of them in close proximity to each other. I've had a lot of heroes wiped out from not hauling corpses.

My best solution is to have a "safe path" protected by patrolling soldiers (set a few soldiers with patrol points at or near the corpse to clear out any enemies. These soldiers need to have the best armour and weapons possible, and it's probably ot worth doing if the corpse is on level five or lower). It takes a lot of manpower, but it lets your townies retrieve their dead and bury them with dignity. Otherwise, just delete the corpses and use a statue or gravestone modded not to require the corpse to commemorate the brave townie.

Personally, if the townies or hero died doing something brave (like single handedly holding up a siege untill the guards could arrive) then they get a proper grave with a statue and flowers, but if they died because they forgot to eat or tried to collect a wooden sword from the middle of a horde of goblins their corpse gets deleted; if they were useful before their ignominious death they might get a bonsai tree in their honour, but generally I don't commemorate stupid townies.

Why all this harsh rhetoric only vaguely related to 0.5 you ask? Well, there's bound to be some improvement to these kinds of things even if the problem is nowhere near fixed, and a whole new slur of issues will probably come up (I can just see townies walking off the edge of floating islands to place something on the square below ad discovering that gravity is a harsh mistress, or fleeing from one monster just to fall down a chasm to the bottom level of the dungeon because they weren't watching where theywere going). People will try to design work arounds, but the fact is you can't be sentimental about your dead townies, at least not until a lot more updates have been released :ugeek:.
