We are looking at that issue too.

Can you give us more information?
Like, what kind of task the starved citizen was doing.... maybe sleepeing or fighting?

I had 2 of my citizens die early in the game while making the mills... took a while to gather the stones and then the cows. they wouldnt stop making the mills until they were finished. that guy died from hauling i think, probably picked up wood somewhere and then died in the carpender shop.

Thanks, we will take a look at this.

By the way, citizens starve to death if they don't eat for a full in-game day. That's a lot of time!
I supose that you don't know a way to reproduce that issue, right?

I am certain that the people who starved only ate an apple or something then got to work. if I remember correctly apples only fill 25% so thats 6 hours ingame.

edit:its 20% i just checked...

I see. But not really. If they eat an apple, his "next-meal" counter will be set to a 20% of the normal value. But the "hunger" counter is reset. So, they will have to starve for a full day again to die....

Well, thanks for the feedback, we will check the possible causes

So they have to starve a full day to die.. I can't imagine a task takes "that" long.. I have an idea how to reproduce it.. I'll give it a try and see if they die doing it.. If it does I'll let you know, and if not then.. no sense you trying it to :P

Yeah go test caprontos. hehe. But yeah I've had this happen too but not for sometime now. Say you build a mill in map corner A and your resources are in map corner B. He has to travel the length each time for each resource needed, the wood, stone and lets not forget chasing down the cow. A single townie will perform all these actions in a row before doing anything else. So after like 2 resources, he drops dead of exhaustion, and I don't blame him. ;) Best way to prevent this is doing your best to keep resources and projects close together.

Similar incident with me as well... The townie in question was moving very slowly through the first dungeon level.. his task was hauling.. i kept an eye on him.. he was moving slow as slow could be with the starving icon.. went to the furthest possible spiderite.. passing at least 15 others.. and as he was walking back with spiderite in hand he starved to death..

And.. as I write this i notice... Benedict Fonnereau has starved... cant click on the starved action either.. so had to locate his body scanning little by little.. he died in the dungeon as well.. despite there being 20+ ladders out in various positions.. (fog of war scouting)

Things in common.. they were in a dungeon across a river access by a single bridge.. both hauling i believe, I had no actions pending besides keeping ham and eggs up, as I am waiting on immigrants.. 200+ ham and eggs available..

I have noticed they do like to complete tasks before going to eat.. where as in .42 they would drop what they were doing and grab a snack the second the bread icon showed.. now they seem to want to complete creating something or hauling something before grabbing food or sleep, thus at any givin time I have about 5 townies doing the snail crawl.

Love the game! hope this helps!!

This is what I had in mind but it isn't working... but then my people don't seem to even be getting hungry at all in this map :S so I am very confused.. They did finally eat, so even walking across the map to build a mill doesn't kill them.. but if you could get one to start just before he gets hungry (which I can't really) then he may die.
