Release #13:

Added the ability for mods to edit the towns.ini and add their own font.

Expect some new things to be added to the modloader sort of soon :)

Updated with a beta release! #14

Instead of having ADVModInstaller and ModInstaller, we now only have ModInstaller that can install both Advanced and Normal mods so you no longer will have 2 different installers. But you will still have to place the advanced mod files in ADVMods folder and normal mod files in the Mods folder.
I also fixed a bug that old graphics files would not be removed when uninstalling mods.
And added a error message that will sometimes display if you are trying to install a advanced mod using the normal Mods folder (Which you should not do) just to help out the noobs :)

The stable #13 release is still up if you are scared of beta releases!

Modders will not have to update their mods.

As mod looks great, a Mod Loader =D, but Towns is multi-platform and this is only for Windows or am I wrong?

You plan to create a version for Linux and Mac in the future?

Regards.

I am seeing the Modloader as a temporary fix until they get the mod API up and running.
So this will only be for windows it's really not worth the effort to make it for any other platforms.

Btw expect to see a nice update to the Modloader once 0.45 comes out :)

It could probably be converted to a bash script :) I'll have a go one day :)

Importent! (for mod coders only)

Preparing your mod for the next release of the Modloader (version 2.1) is very easy, do the following: (2.1 won't be released until Towns version 0.45 is out)

If you have a advanced mod, all your files will not have to be advanced, if for example only one of your files edit existing code put a ADV tag in front of the name i.e ADVitems.xml or ADVgen_map.xml. The rest of your files will be just like in a normal mod, your code only and no ADV tag.
Installing mods in 2.1 will only require the Mods folder, ADVMods folder is gone.

Add a modname.txt containing the name of your mod in your mod file (it is put in the Mods folder when installing ofc) this file will be used to detect errors that involve your mod and after installing your mod it will be added to the InstalledMods.txt found in your towns folder. If your mod does not have this modname.txt it will be referred to as - Unknown Mod -

The version format of the Modloader will also be changing when 0.45 comes. Instead of just calling them Release 1, 2 and 3 like before, I will call this first Modloader release for 2.1, next for 2.2 and so on. The first number in the version number will only change if you might have to update your mod. So you do not have to say that your mod is compatible with Modloader version 2.1, but with Modloader version 2.x (x standing for anything)

Sorry if I was unclear about anything, please ask if you are confused!
