Lag When Recording With Fraps

Postby ZeroEmpires » Sat Apr 14, 2012 5:13 pm

Hey I'm hoping that someone can help me out here as I haven't been able to find a solution anywhere else!

I'm trying to record Towns with Fraps but the game drops to about 6fps when recording is in progress. I don't understand why this is as I can record other games in full screen easily at 60fps.

Pc Specs -
Intel i5-2450M @2.5ghz
4gb RAM
Intel HD Graphics
64Bit OS

I know I'm using on board graphics but this is never an issue for other non-java based games and Towns isn't exactly Graphically intense.
I have tried setting the affinity for each of the 4 processor cores amongst recording in half size, and still no luck.

Edit: Also, when I look at the cpu usage during recording only 50% of my cpu is being used. I don't get it?!

If someone could help that would be really great. Thanks.
Zak.

It is likely a graphics issue. Fraps kills graphics. I know it used to kill my machine when I used windows. Try updating to the latest graphics card drivers :)
