Sieges

To prepare for sieges I built a wall around my town and left a two wide gap as the entrance. I put doors over the entrance and then built a long, 2-wide corridor of log fencing leading up to the door. I filled the corridor with bear traps and then waited for a siege. The first siege I got was about 8-10 green slimes. I let them all flood into the corridor of bear traps and then I locked the doors. The slimes stopped in place on top of the bear traps and just sat there until they all died. Could this be an effective siege defense strategy or did I just get lucky they didn't drop loot and break the bear traps?

this is a not-bug. But I personally feel it is kinda abusable.

For now this is a flawless defense however you will lose items doing it.. due to lack of space .. generally..

Trap boxes are more effective for mass loot:

if you look there you can see I have the siege all die in that box, and get plenty of loot.

You can see killed an entire siege with a single bear trap.

That's really cool, I've seen that first picture before but I keep wondering how you actually constructed that. How do you know where the siege is going to spawn or is it the same every time? Also how do the traps rate in effectiveness? I have seen the wiki where it has the different damages they do and the reload times but how do they stack up in actual application?

I wall the entire map of off with a fence and leave 1 space open... sieges have 1 space to enter.

You can however wall off just your town and link it to 1 space along the edge of the map.. and they will always spawn there.

As long as there is only 1 path from edge of the map - to town.. They can only spawn in that 1 spot.

Once they spawn, you just lock the fence gate leading out of that box, they will just idle to death in the box.

They will only charge your town if there is a open path to the town.. this cam be used to minpulate them pretty easy.. if you look here:

and see how I have this ghoul siege used for testing. With little effort really.

This can be used to split a siege up and kill a few at a time - could probably even create a hero training box if I wanted. and level heroes to max with little risk of them dieing. Something I might try.. been thinking on it :P
