BVierra's Map Pack

Postby bvierra » Sun Jan 22, 2012 11:14 pm

So I thought it would be fun to start making some new map's.

My 1st map is made for beginners. I had some issues at the beginning with spawning right next to Jungle's at times. This one has no enemies on level 0 or 1. I also made sure that Iron and Coal are available on level 0 (to help with starting kitchen's and getting your citizen's outfitted).

Don't worry, I will be adding on some maps that are much more difficult.

You can get full details on it as well as download it over at:

I'm not sure if it's something on my end, but creating a map generates no normal trees. Just jungle trees, snowy trees, and some normal bushes. No trees, really.

Again, no trees like a few other people said except the snowy and jungle trees :/

Had to dig into this thing a bit, got it working flawlessly.

OP had forgotten that the "grass" seed(s) is responsible for spawning trees.

I fixed on my copy, if needed can deliver fixed version.

Trees would be nice in the next one, but it is fun using only the jungle and snow trees, and there is also plenty of space to build :)

Disregard what I wrote below. I put the Bvierra map folder inside of the C1 folder which is inside of the campaigns folder when it needed to just be inside of the campaigns folder. However like others before me, it only generated some snow trees and no other normal trees thus making it unplayable.

Base: Dirt, Grass, Stone
Additional: Snow, Jungle
Mountains: 2
Water: 1 Lake, no rivers
Iron & Coal are guarenteed to be on the top level

Wiki states the above, however when I entered the game I had 2 lakes one at the north and one at the south with a river running all the way from north lake just down to the south east side of the south lake but not touching the south lake.

Found coal on the surface but no iron.

Edit: Oh and I did find one lone frogman down at the very south west corner of the south lake, with the only jungle tree he was standing right next to it.

I'm guessing something has changed in the coding between when BVierra posted the map generation code back in what? January? and in version 0.47b that is not working correctly so it's just generating a normal map. The 2ND map that I generated was littered with froggies, as well as a huge river running through the map and no coal or iron on the surface.
