ticks is a word used in many different cases it is a word to explain a certain amount of time, in minecraft for example we have the game tick that is 0.05 seconds long and the redstone tick that is 0.1 seconds long.

In towns the ticks (also called turns in the .xml files) is 1/8 of a second long. Ticks/turns are the way we measure time in Towns.

I think you should just link to a wiki page where all the tags are so people can just go there and add a comment to the tags.
It will be easiest that way for people to leave explanations.
