Everyone please read

Postby BlueSteelAUS » Thu Feb 20, 2014 10:56 am

There have been many altercations on the forums in the past.
Many things have been said in anger, frustration, in the heat of the moment on both sides of the fence.

To bring everything back to normal we ask everyone to please calm down
(Read the rules viewtopic.php?f=8&t=8057)
(not knowing the rules is no defense as you should have read them before you post anything)

If you can't stick to the rules you will get warnings, first unofficial (not linked to your account) then official then banned for increasing intervals of time.(these official warnings and above will be noted against your account)
You will also be directed to rules so you can re-familiarize yourself with them, your posts may be deleted as is stated in the rules.

Please DON'T go back through all the old posts and report them
(Keep reports on the current replies/posts lets say after the 17th Feb 2014. Anything prior to that could already have been reported looked into by Retired Staff ).

We reserve the right to close, archive, merge, move posts that we deem too old, going nowhere, provide no new or relevant info, posted in wrong area.

Everyone can and will have their own points of view, there are right ways and wrong ways to express yourselves.

Before you post or reply to anything ask yourself these questions.

  1. Does previous post need reporting
    1. If you think anyone has posted anything that you think is breaking the rules(this includes Spam), don't reply to their post or PM. Report their post or PM and let the staff handle it from there.
    2. If you find yourself being baited continually by someones posts and have already reported that post, then there is an IGNORE function on the forums where you can add them to to your Foes list then you'll not see their posts unless you decide to by clicking on view this post.

  2. Put yourself in other persons shoes. If someone wrote a post similar to what you're about to post, involving (either directly or indirectly) you, how would you feel when you read it?
If you wouldn't like it then don't post it, reword it in another way that's not offensive or can not be taken the wrong way or as an attack on others.
If you see posts like this then report the post or PM, Let the staff handle it. Add poster to your ignore list if you like.
Don't reply to what they've said then you'll could be in the wrong too.

  3. Would you say what your going to type to, or in front your family, kids especially. we have members here that are underage and very impressionable, would you like to have them one day talk to you like your talking on the forums.
If they wouldn't like it, or it would be inappropriate then don't post it, reword it in another way so that is is appropriate

  4. Don't forget that these forums go all around the world,
different races, religions, sexual orientations, male, female, transgender, young, old,
New to forums and or the game,or Veterans who've used forums and or this game since their inception.
Your Mother, Father, Sister, Brother, Girlfriend, Boyfriend, Partner, Friends, Boss, Police, Criminals

Don't forget search engines (eg:Google,Yahoo, and many others) also index these forums , and can appear in searches on any words that is in your posts.
So what you say WILL remain around on the internet for ages, and can effect people now and in the future.
Anyone WILL be able to read them anytime, even when what you say is no longer relevant.

So don't post anything that you don't want them to see.

  5. Is your post breaking any of the rules? viewtopic.php?f=8&t=8057 . if so then don't post it

Snippet of the rules for re-enforcement
Rules wrote:Inappropriate content includes but is not limited to that which is:
    Vulgar or graphic
    Of pornographic nature
Offensive to any specific group of people
    Offensive to a general audience
    Sexually oriented
    Invasive of a person’s privacy

No personal attacks or abusive behavior

Personal attacks - Any insulting or abusive behavior that is directed at a specific person.
Bullying (flaming) - Repeated abuse towards another member, this could be undertaken by one member or a number of members.
Instigating (trolling) - Repeatedly provoking a member with the goal of getting an irrational response from them.

Each and every member on this forum has a right to be treated with dignity and respect, any actions which contravene this will result in severe consequences.

  6. Re-posting / Reopening old threads is not permitted without first consulting with the staff through PM's
(For clarity old threads/posts refers to threads/posts that have been inactive for more than 30 days. Unless they are game or mod support threads)

If you've done all of the above and still want to post

  7. Search for keywords about what your going to type, if some are found then read their posts (they may answer your question before you ask it)
Keeping similar thoughts in the same post makes them easier to read and the more replies that a thread has in it the more chance it'll be read, discussed and or acted upon.
(if you post it in a fresh topic and someone thinks its posted in the wrong area or that it should be in another thread, it may be moved there anyway)
If after doing all of the above and you still think your post is new or you have found a similar topic then make sure you post/reply it in the right area(section)/post relating to the topic of your post
look away, count to 10, Re-Read your post / reply and make sure it abides by the rules. then click Submit

Wait for replies , If your post is relevant and someone has answers or wants to agree or disagree or has a comment they'll reply. There's no need to Bump a post just because you haven't had a reply.

Do make use of the BBCode of this forum to better format your list. It looks better and more professional.
  1. This
  2. Is
    1. An Example
    2. For
    3. How to
  3. Do that.

Quote example

You can edit my post to see the BBCode used to generate this output (I don't mind you deleting it afterwards too).

It just bothers me seeing people do things like
1. item
2. item

When there's markup better suited to handle it.
