Dungeon Crawler (Forum game)

Anything other than Towns

Bah stuck in town. SIGH. I suppose I'll go with my second favorite past time...

In the Inn with the others, I say, "I'll be back when the poison disperses." And slip away into town.
I wait until night falls upon the town and do as I have always done, steal from the rich and give to myself. And by rich I mean anyone who has something worth stealing. Maybe I'll get a shiny new dagger or two from the forge, and maybe I'll find a nice engraved dagger that obviously belonged to someone else for Jondel.

If I get it for Jondel, then I'll think about whether or not I want to call the guards on him... Wonder if there will be a reward.

Also Aduvash, if you want you can have my poison bottle, throwing it like that seems more like a standard rogue d*ck move anyway.

Code: Select all
Name: Cruzaeus
Hp. 75
AP: 60/60 (2Sta)
CP: 140/140  (2(Str+Dex))
MP: 10/10 (2Int)

Str: 30
Sta: 30
Dex: 50
Int: 5

EXP: 20

Ability's.
Sneak

INVENTORY:
Dagger of: Whoever made this has no skill in crafting dagger. -2 attack penalty. X2
Broken shortsword. Half damage done. (aka your max damage with this is about 10 so if you got a 10 thats 5.)
Smoke bomb X2. Causes confusion about were your team is. Generally allows for extra attacks for you/your team.
Poison Bottle. Throwable. And you can use it on your weaponry to make it a poison weapon.

I just noticed that the description on the poison bottle says that you can put it on your weapon... I'm not sure that that is wise...

>Earl considers how his body moves too fast for his brain and how he threw the bottle without meaning to, he then apologizes to his fellow adventurers about the whole bio-weapon incident and promises to be more careful in the future. While he rests at the inn he considers how potent it was, it was made only of some cheese and some snake venom, that shouldn't have caused that... Earl's thoughts were interrupted by Cruzaeus offering his poison bottle to him, putting the recent event out of his mind Earl replied: "Well I won't take it for free, what do you say that I whip up a fine swiftness potion for you in return?"

(OOC: I'm going to wait until tomorrow to post the skills because yetichow's post was confusing.)

OOC: Sorry for any confusion about character stats, but I Jondel Cornu's and Cruzaeus' stats are good with what I was thinking. The reason you want to have high stats is that your stat is added to the number you rolled for any test - if you take a normal test (five dice), I roll five dice to determine the score you have to beat. I then roll five more dice and add tyour appropriate stat, thus giving you a result. The idea is that if you have a high dexterity stat (for example), things like taking normal shots with a bow and arrow or leaping a chasm should be really easy.

I won't update now, but Cruzaeus' idea about stealing from the forge and pinning the balme on others is quite entertaining. If you can ace a 3x dexterity test (15 dice) you can get away scott free, if you pass then the town won't know but the others will, and if you fail then, well... I forsee many angry people with pitchforks  (remember, this would require a really unlucky roll though - not just me being evil)

Also, Jondel Cornu can develop his latent magical power if he likes, but for each new ability he'll have to spend a skill point - you'll get d6 when you level up (I changed that from the rules page I think, but this new value is official). Since all the things you talk about are really part of the same skill, putting one point into naturomancy will give you all these kinds of abilities - I see it as some kind of instinct which tells you how animals are feeling, which plants are poisonous or healing etc. In other words, it's basically a kind of empathy with nature, which seems perfectly in character for a Helfling (halfling elf - I just thought that might be a good name for what you are but feel free to call yourself whatever you like :D)

And yeah, I realise that the potion wasn't expected to go bio-weapon. I decided that it had actually vaporised in the bottle, hence the cloud of toxic doom. Also, the snake venom really works with the whole neurotoxic reaction thing - that was purely a happy accident :D
What's that you're eating? A nice, juicy apple? You weren't supposed to eat that you fool, you were supposed to make it into a pie! - last words recorded words of Francis D'Avre before he went looking for snowcherries, but found a hungry Yeti instead.

OOC:

Ok, I'll try to join in, but I might need a little guidance (i'm a complete newbie at this :P). I think I'd like to try a Cleric character, since it seems nobody has claimed that one yet. I'm assuming you assign my stats and abilities and stuff similar to how the previous characters were, Yeti?

OOC:

You need to select the type of character (cleric sounds like a great choice :D)

Then spread 115 stat points between Stamina, Strength, Dextrerity, and Intellect. (minimum of 5 each stat)

You will have double your Stamina as Action points (non-combat related actions), your strength and dextrerity combined, and doubled, as Combat Points (actions made in combat) and double your intellect as Mana points (for, well... casting and stuff)

You can add a bit of background to your character or explain better what your point is (like, you can be a cleric who attacks only with magic, or one who uses the staff or a mace as a weapon and uses magic as support, or whatever)

I think inventory and HP are part of the GM's work there :P

Yeti, I was kind of expecting a D&D type roll on the thieving. You know, what do I find/does someone enter? - if someone does enter, do I get away without being seen? :P Oh well, you're the GM not me.:P

OOC: Alright, i'll give this a try. Let me know if anything needs adjusting.

Code: Select all
CLERIC

Name: Stefan
Health Points: TBD by GM
30/30 Action Points (Sta x2)
110/110 Combat Points (Str+Dex x2)
90/90 Mana Points (Int x2)
0 Experience Points

Base Statistics:
Str: 15
Dex: 40
Int: 45
Sta: 15

Inventory: TBD by GM

Some info: Similar to the" Monk" stereotype (actually, very close to a monk. Maybe he should just be called a monk?) Skilled with a long staff in melee combat and uses supporting magic for those around him. Spells that would do things such as protect from damage, cause enemies to calm/run away/be confused, heal wounds, etc. Defensive magic in other words.

Hope this looks alright!

Your points add up to 115 which is correct. and you did the AP/CP/MP calculations correctly.
Yay! We needed a healer. :) Nah cleric is right, in RP scenarios a monk is usually a bare fist dps with a -little- defensive magic.

Great! The healer has oddly enough been one of my favorite classes, only behind the Rogue style characters. Can't wait to see how this plays out!
