regarding Daggerfall:

Yea, I tried it out years ago but never really got into it. I may give it a go again if I can find a way to run it on Windows 7.

Daggerfall is now free, acc. to wikipedia. And there is a guy who offers a free download of daggerfall and DOSbox (free) and an installer. I tried it, but the music is too horrible for me. Also the cardboard-characters...

Got around to install Daggerfall in DosBox under Win7... and it seems to work.
Haven't really started played it yet. It's not so dated in my memories than in reality.

But I still love it.

I rather went to try out Skyrim over the weekend. Bought it a few weeks back but never played it.
I'm trying to get enough gold for a house to store all the items I don't want to throw away... That's a thing I always hated not being able to carry everything lying around.
Skyrim reminds me more of Morrowind than Daggerfall. Probably because of the ugly characters you get to choose. But Skyrim seems to be more fun than Morrowind was for me. (I didn't play Morrowind for very long. Not sure what was wrong... must have been a graphics thing.)

Stronghold all the way. I've been playing all the games in the franchise except the newest stronghold 3, for many many years, and i'm still having tons of fun. Just yesterday we (me and a friend) gave a try to some levels of "stronghold Crusader Extreme"... and god, it really is extreme.

I mostly like the economic and defensive building side of the game, the melee combat is kinda basic but i don't mind. Probably these same things keep me really attached to Towns, too...

Age Of Empires 2, by far also Unreal Tournament my first multiplayer experience, Metal Gear Solid, FFVII/VIII and Uncharted 2 for a more recent game

Legend of Zelda link to the past is clearly the best..


But I like a lot of games, quite a bit and not good at choosing ranks so I'll just sorta ramble off a bunch of memorable games I really enjoyed:

Any other Zelda series game though is good to(played beat them all several times.. accept the 2nd.. I hate side-scrollers - tis no my cup of tea).

Of rpgish like games, I liked the Mana (Legend of Mana ftw) series, The final fantasy Series up until 12 (5 being the best I think), sorta excluding 11 and 10(though 10 is playable:P.. never touched 11). The Suikoden series, more so 1 and 2 - were really good. among many others.. (Breath of Fire1-4, Summoner, Paper Mario's, Crystalis, Phantasy Star 1-2(never got to playing 3 and 4 yet haha), Dark Cloud, and Golden sun 1-3 to name a bunch more great ones)..

Of RTS's I've always liked Warcraft 2 - Age of empires 1-3 were all good but played far to much of 2... far far to much.. Stronghold was pretty decent as well. I'mma throw Ogre Battle MotBQ and 64 in this to. Very fun games. sorta rts but a lot different then an RTS at the same time.

Harvest moon! .. Primarily Harvest Moon friends of mineral town, none of the others compare to its addictiveness... So many hours gone ... But all the others I played were pretty fun to.

All The Dynasty Warriors games, from 2 - 5 were fun, though Dynasty Warriors 5 empires is the winner of that group - again.. so many hours..

For Turn based .. Final Fantasy tactics, and Tactics Ogre were pretty fun, as are the Advance Wars games.

Towns is a pretty good one to, I don't know if you guys have tried it.. - so many hours already.. and probably to many to waste coming haha.

And also, Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past, again is the best of course if I didn't say it...

I am probably forgetting a bunch here at any rate.. err.. yeah..

Settlers series (liked Settlers II the most)
Age of Empires series
Dune 2
C6C series
Warcraft Series
X-Com series
Stronghold 1 and 2. I'll try Stronghold 3 when they slow down on all those patches (for some there was one patch per week).
Sim City 2000
Cities XL
Star Controll 2 (you must love its music)
One Must Fall 2097 (we used to spend whole afternoons fighting with robots)
Interstate 76
Albion (my first and best RPG game)
Minecraft (verry promising game especialy with additional moods)
Terraria (to bad it's development was canceled, I do anxiously await new game from terraria developers)

I see how it is now.. Maybe I am the only one... You should really give it a go though you might like it
